Throughout October 2009, National Let’s Talk Month, Planned Parenthood of Hawaii will hold I’m Askable workshops for parents throughout the islands. The workshops will teach parents how to start the sexual health conversation and how to continue the conversation over the years. The workshops will also give parents strategies on how to be more approachable or askable when discussions about sex and sexuality arise.
Each session is designed for parents/guardians, but any adult who has a niece or nephew, works with youth, or will be having children in the future is welcome to attend. Parents and adults will have the opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns, practice listening skills and learn what Hawaii youth wants to know about sex. Join us in this highly interactive session in which parents and adults are encouraged to participate. Childcare will be provided onsite free of charge.
A suggested donation goes towards Planned Parenthood of Hawaii’s educational programs for the youth of Hawaii.
