Annual Luncheon Fort Worth

Jennifer Siebel Newsom Miss Representation

Keynote Speaker: Jennifer Siebel Newsom

Thanks to many of you, more than 600 supporters braved the cold to attend Planned Parenthood’s Annual Luncheon in Fort Worth on February 7, raising more than $230,000 to support Planned Parenthood’s essential health care and education services.

Luncheon keynote speaker Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the writer, director, and producer of the 2011 Sundance documentary film, Miss Representation, was both informative and inspiring. As an advocate for women, girls, and families, Ms. Newsom challenged guests to take action. “We are in the middle of a major human rights movement that is challenging current inequities and social injustices, and there is no going back,” Ms. Newsom said. “Your engagement in creating a healthier culture is the solution to so many of our country’s current problems. The rest of the world is watching and waiting to ensure we get it right.”

We would like to extend a very special thank-you to Luncheon Chair Betty Murrell Hove and the Luncheon Host Committee for making this benefit such a success.

With the targeted attacks on funding for women’s health, and on Planned Parenthood specifically, Planned Parenthood’s patients count on our health care services more than ever. Thanks to your support, Planned Parenthood is standing strong and will continue to be here for the Texans who count on us—no matter what.
