Stephanie Kight is the President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio and their advocacy arm, Planned Parenthood of Advocates of Ohio.
A native of Ohio, Stephanie is glad to be focused on health care for women, men, and young people across the state. She firmly believes that all people, regardless of race, gender, socio-economic background, and sexual orientation, deserve affordable, high-quality health care. With her leadership, care is more than the services provided at local health centers. Care is demonstrated through the interactions with patients and students, through the fight for reproductive rights from the Ohio Statehouse to Capitol Hill, and through the development of staff who share in the idea that when people have the care they need, they make their lives and the lives of their families better and healthier.
Stephanie has consulted with and worked for a variety of non-profit organizations throughout her career, including Mount Carmel Hospitals, Irvine Temporary Housing, the Columbus YWCA, and Child Abuse Prevention Centers. She has worked for start-ups and has owned and operated her own consulting firm, working in the U.S. and in England.
Stephanie found her true passion, however, when she joined Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties in 2004 as Senior Vice President of Community Affairs. In her eight years with Planned Parenthood, the former Buckeye created a dynamic social media department, which launched the nation’s first sex education text messaging hotline. She also worked with affiliates across California to conduct extensive research into the Planned Parenthood brand, which resulted in the agency’s first statewide brand communication campaign and helped her affiliate earn the recognition of being one of Orange County’s Top Most Trustworthy Brands for two consecutive years.
Stephanie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Bowling Green State University. She has three daughters, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren.
