Healthy Families Project

The Healthy Families project is focused on reducing unintended pregnancies in Iowa. To that end, we support the creation of a state fund that would provide over 100,000 Iowa women with family planning services, including contraception.

Iowa is one of eleven states that does not provide significant state funding for family planning resources like contraceptives.

In Minnesota, they’ve shown savings of $4 for every dollar spent on family planning. The state of Iowa currently spends over $47 million per year on unintended teen pregnancies alone.
