Adoption Services
Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa and the Avalon Center have partnered to provide a full-service adoption program for PPGI clients. This new partnership is based out of PPGI’s Joseph F. Rosenfield Health Care Center in Des Moines. Clients looking to make an adoption plan or interested in learning more about the option have the opportunity to speak with professional adoption counselors on site or via phone 24 hours a day. A representative is also available to travel to PPGI centers around the state.
PPGI is now able to provide the full range of choices to clients through this partnership. Because PPGI is committed to educating our clients on all choices, abortion, prenatal care and adoption are all available. Unique partnerships like this are known to exist in only two other Planned Parenthood affiliates in the country, and we are very excited to offer this option to our patients.
Birth Parent Services Include:
Free and confidential adoption, counseling and mediation services for birth parents and their families, both before and after placement.
- Development of an adoption plan tailored to meet the needs of the family.
- Interim care for the child while you make your decision.
- Free assistance with the legal process.
- Supportive services and referrals for all clients.
- Post-adoption, ongoing counseling.
