Volunteers & Interns

Volunteers and Interns
For over 45 years in Georgia, we have been connecting women and men with health care, and youth with educational programs. Get involved...you can help make the connection! Each year, hundreds of volunteers at Planned Parenthood contribute thousands of hours of service. Volunteers help us to expand our health center services, educational programs, community outreach and advocacy efforts.

Internships: Each internship is in a different department at PP in Atlanta and has different requirements, generally a commitment of 10 - 20 hours/week per semester, and offer a stipend. Click on the area of interest below for a pdf of the intership description.
Fill in this APPLICATION form (pdf) and fax to 404-688-0621.

All internship positions are currenty filled. Please check back in the new year.

Our volunteer application process will be on hiatus until January, 2010. Please check back for volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer opportunities include:
Community Outreach: Attend health fairs, and assist health educators at community events with distribution of information and advocacy materials.

Development: Help Planned Parenthood raise money to fund family planning programs by making phone calls and assisting with mailings throughout the year. This is a great volunteer opportunity for those who would prefer to participate periodically rather than on a regular schedule.

Health Center: Gain experience in a family planning center by assisting with clerical duties. Volunteers in the health center will be required to attend a series of training sessions.

Planned Parenthood Action Network (PPAN): Receive updates by e-mail that will allow you to identify and contact your elected officials on issues you care about. PPAN makes being an activist easy!

Public Affairs: Help with research and special projects, and act as a liaison during the legislative session.

Special Events: Greet guests, serve on committees, and assist in other ways during Planned Parenthood events.

Young Leaders: Want to inspire the next generation of leaders in the reproductive health and justice movement? If you're between the ages of 21-40 and want to put your talents to work for a good cause, meet good people and have fun...join us.
