Michigan's 24 Hour Wait Law

Before obtaining an abortion, Michigan law states that a woman has the option to review or not review these fetal development materials. However, you must sign the informed consent form before your abortion can be performed.

You should know that the materials were created by the State of Michigan through legislation drafted by Right to Life of Michigan. While the State claims they are medically accurate and unbiased, we do not necessarily agree. If you have any questions about any of the information you view on this website, please call Planned Parenthood or your abortion provider.

There are about 25 pages on the website. You are not required to view all of them. At a minimum, clicking on each section heading once and viewing the information related to your procedure, the length of your pregnancy, the prenatal, and parenting pages is required. At the bottom of the Parenting page click on continue. Then click on Informed Consent Internet Confirmation Form.  This form is good for only 2 weeks.  You will be provided more information at your consultation with your abortion provider and any questions you have will be addressed then. If you wish to view this information and print the consent form from the web, click here.
