Get Involved Locally
Few decisions are more important or more private than the reproductive choices we make. Yet, across the country, politicians are trying to make these decisions for us by outlawing or restricting access to sex education, contraception and abortion. Planned Parenthood of East Central Michigan works at the local, state and national levels to assure all individuals have the freedoms to make decisions about their reproductive health.
Here are a few ways you can get involved and make a difference on the local level:
- Join the Planned Parenthood Action Network. The action network educates and mobilizes people who support access to birth control, the right to choose, and family planning services. It's a fast, easy and free way to make your voice heard, and allows you to stay up to date on Planned Parenthood's issues. Here's how it works:
- You receive an e-mail alert from Planned Parenthood.
- You click the designated link to take action.
- A letter expressing your support for women's health is automatically e-mailed to your legislator.
- Write a letter to your local newspaper in support of reproductive rights. It's a great way to raise awareness and educate the community on Planned Parenthood's prevention work.
- Speak out on public policy and write a letter to your elected official. Legislators want to hear from consitutents on issues that affect them!
- Volunteer at Planned Parenthood of East Central Michigan. We have a variety of volunteer assignments to meet your needs.
- Join a VOX or PPYL group to network with like-minded individuals and educate the community about Planned Parenthood's work.
