Teen Awareness Group (TAG)

Programs in schools and for community groups provide important opportunities to offer information to teens. PPECI also coordinates some intensive, specialized projects. These are founded on the philosophy that teen pregnancy is a logical result when young women and men have few aspirations and little hope for the future. We use a holistic approach, combining education with interaction with caring adults, exposure to new experiences, community service, and opportunities to set and meet goals.

Teen Awareness Group (T.A.G.)

The Teen Awareness Group program is sponsored by Planned Parenthood of East Central Illinois and partially funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program and the Cunningham Township/Urbana City Social Services Funds.

This program offers young people the unique opportunity to work part time as agency employees with the goal of preventing teen pregnancy and helping their peers to make responsible choices. Peer Educators must complete 60 hours of training during the summer and attend weekly meetings throughout the school year.
