Planned Parenthood is pleased to announce that we now offer Emergency Contraception services online. This new service will allow women easy access to Emergency Contraception, which prevents unintended pregnancies after intercourse.
The EC Online service from Planned Parenthood of East Central Illinois is NOT a 24-hour service.
If you send a request outside of our service hours, it will be processed on the next business day.
The service hours for EC Online are: Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
Some sites are open for pick-up of medications on Saturdays.
PPECI also recognizes and closes for the following holidays:
• New Year's Day • Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday • President's Day • Memorial Day • Independence Day • Labor Day • Thanksgiving Day and day after • Christmas Eve Day and Christmas Day
**If you send a request for Emergency Contraception in during a holiday, your request will not be seen until the next business day.
To obtain a prescription for Emergency Contraception, you will need to follow these steps:
1) Gather the following information:
• a valid credit card ("Planned Parenthood" will be seen on your statement) • the name, address, and phone number of the pharmacy you would like your prescription phoned into, if not picking it up at a PPECI health center. Not all pharmacies carry or fill prescriptions for Emergency Contraception, or "Plan B," the brand of EC PPECI usually prescribes. You may want to check with the pharmacy to see if they carry it, if they will fill the prescription, and what the hours are, so that you can be sure you can pick up your prescription. • you may also find it useful to have a calendar nearby
2) Read through the online fact sheet.
3) Read through and agree to the online consent form.
4) Complete a brief medical history form.
5) Once your information is submitted, it will come to our health center. A staff person will download the information and contact you with instructions for you to pick up your EC at the location you request on the medical history form.
And please note:
• to use this service you must be the person who will be taking the emergency contraception pills • emergency contraception is meant for use by women only • to use this online service, you must be a resident of Illinois.
This service is not eligible for reduced or discounted fees, nor can this service be billed to your insurance carrier. If you have any questions, please contact the health center nearest you.
