Emergency Contraception (EC)

No one is perfect. Sometimes, you forget to take a pill, you get your shot a little late, the condom breaks...there was no condom....whatever the reason, you now have a second chance to preventing pregnancy.

Emergency Contraception, or EC, is a way to prevent an unintended pregnancy after unprotected sex has occured. Used within 120 hours of the unprotected sex, EC is over 75% effective in preventing pregnancy. Not to be confused with Mifepristone, EC will not disrupt a pregnancy.

You can get Emergency Contraception at any PPECI health center.
