Teen Peer Education
STARS (Students Teaching About Responsible Sexuality), founded in 2001, is a regional peer education program in the greater New Haven area organized by Planned Parenthood of Connecticut. Teens involved are trained to provide basic sexuality-related education, resources and referrals to their peers via both informal and formal venues. The focus of the program is teen pregnancy prevention, STD and HIV prevention, and the promotion of healthy relationships through responsible choices.
