Sex education - at any age - begins in the home. Balanced and responsible sex education combines the efforts of parents, educators, and children, and recognizes that the most important sexuality educator is the parent. Effective sex education also helps with parent/child communication by providing parents and children with information as well as models for conversation. It helps our young people understand that the family is one of the best sources for guidance in developing responsible, honest, and respectful values about sex and sexuality.
