This beautiful mural created by Ophelia Chambliss greets clients and visitors to the York Administration Office and Health Center. The mission of Planned Parenthood of Central Pennsylvania is to provide comprehensive primary and reproductive health care services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; to advocate public policies that guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services; to provide educational programs, which enhance understanding of individual and societal implications of human sexuality, and to promote health care research.
We celebrated our 75th Birthday throughout 2010! Planned Parenthood of Central PA began as the Maternal Health Clinic in York, PA in 1935. It was founded by a group of volunteers from York's leading society women who recognized that during the Great Depression there was a tremendous need for women to be able to space the births of their children. A great tradition of volunteerism continues at PPCP with approximately 85 volunteers providing 4,505 hours of service to our affiliate and clients. If you are interested in volunteering, submit a Volunteer Application to our Director of Volunteers or call 717.845.9683 x 201 for more information.
Following the retirement of our President/CEO, we have entered a year-long management contract with Planned Parenthood of Northeast, Mid-Penn & Bucks County (PPNMPBC). Our Interim CEO is Kim Custer who may be reached at kcuster@planitpa.org or 610.628.0607. We will be providing much more information about our growing affiliate throughout the year.
We're here for you now. We'll be here for you when you need us.
