Continuing the Pregnancy Every woman who becomes pregnant has the right to continue the pregnancy regardless of her age, marital status, or financial condition. Good prenatal care is vital to ensure a healthy pregnancy. It involves regular check-ups, special nutrition, adequate rest, and regular exercise. Services are provided by private physicians or community health agencies such as:

Adoption Adoption is an alternative for a woman who doesn't feel she is ready to raise a child but does not want to have an abortion or terminate the pregnancy. Adoption is a legal process and can be done either independently, through an attorney, or through a private or governmental agency.
Franklin County Children Services, (614) 341-6000 Assistance in completing adoption process. No fee. No assistance available for prenatal care, but will refer to available community resources. Focus is on placement of children with special needs.
Crittenton Family Services, (614) 251-0103 Confidential pregnancy counseling. Opportunity to make special requests regarding choice of adoptive family. Monthly correspondence available between birth and adoptive parents. Paid medical expenses. No court involvement.
Lutheran Social Services, (614) 228-5200 Pregnancy counseling. Opportunity to make special needs placements. Input into choice of adoptive family. Link to community resources. Do not need to have Lutheran religious affiliation.
Abortion
Unwanted pregnancies happen--even the best birth control methods can fail. Although it is important to have an abortion early in the pregnancy, a woman shouldn't rush into it. It is just as important that she discuss her decision with her partner, parent, doctor, and/or health care provider.
Central Ohio Women's Center Provides pregnancy tests and options information, referrals for prenatal and adoption care, abortion services, follow-up care, and birth control services.
