In honor of the late Martin Luther King, Jr., our new president made a call to service and we at PPCO answered. In response to Barack Obama's request that people give back to their communities on MLK Day, Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio coordinated a “Women’s Essentials” drive for our YWCA. We asked our staff and supporters to bring in items that would help meet the basic needs of homeless families and low-income women served by the YWCA of Columbus. Our supporters and staff went above and beyond, bringing to our health centers box after box of toiletries, including over 150 bars of soap, over 100 toothbrushes, 256 razors, and thousands of dollars worth of cosmetics and hair products, among many other things.
