We are pleased to announce that Implanon^® is now available at all six PPCNJ health centers.  Implanon is a highly-effective, long-acting reversible contraceptive implant that is inserted just under the skin of a woman's upper arm. It may be removed at any time and can provide up to three years of contraceptive protection.

Recent research published in the American Journal of Public Health indicated that intrauterine and implant contraceptives—like Implanon^®—are the most cost effective methods of contraception in a publicly-funded family planning program, with a cost savings of more than $7 for every $1 spent in services and supplies. We are pleased to have this new form of contraception available to our patients and look forward to educating our clients on its effectiveness in preventing unintended pregnancy.
