Prenatal Program

Early access to prenatal care can prevent negative health outcomes for mother and child. While the value of healthy mothers and newborns is self-evident in human terms, in strictly monetary terms the positive impact on society is substantial. Studies show that for every dollar spent on prenatal care, an estimated $1.70 to $3.38 is saved based on the mother's risk factors.

One important aspect of our prenatal program is its family planning educational component. Young mothers-to-be in our program not only receive the care so necessary to their health and the health of their unborn child, but they also receive counseling on how to prevent unintended pregnancy. Unplanned pregnancies cause emotional and monetary impact on parents and children, especially when parents are too close in age to being children themselves.
