Teen Services

Planned Parenthood of Alaska (PPA) promises confidential reproductive health care and information in a safe and private environment.

PPA recognizes that sex and sexuality are a part of life, a part of who we are, whether we practice abstinence or are sexually active.

We understand that as a teen, you need a safe, caring place where you can receive confidential, non-judgmental and affordable reproductive health care services as well as get reliable and accurate answers to questions about sexuality and sexual health.

We are committed to giving you the facts about sex so that you can use this information to make your own responsible choices.

By providing honest and accurate information about sexuality, we hope that you use this knowledge to not only avoid unintended pregnancy and STIs but also to achieve healthy relationships and understand the importance of getting good health care.

All of our reproductive health care services are confidential. The only services we offer that require parental consent are non-reproductive health care services. Treatment of illnesses such as upper respiratory illnesses, minor gastrointestinal disorders and allergies, or the treatment of problems like acne are the services that require parental consent. These services fall under the limited family practice category. If you have any questions regarding confidentiality, please call 1-800-230-PLAN for the clinic nearest you. We'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.

While we firmly believe in complete confidentiality of reproductive health care services we do encourage you to talk to your parents about issues involving sex and sexuality. If you feel you cannot talk to one of your parents, you may want to consider talking to another adult family relative or another trusted adult.

To make quality reproductive health care services available to everyone regardless of income, many of our services are offered on a sliding-fee scale. Our scale takes into consideration your income, not your parents. We accept cash, checks, credit cards, private insurance, Medicaid and Denali KidCare.
