YIGAL AZROUËL COLLABORATES WITH PROPER ATTIRE®
To Design the Perfect Fashion Accessory for That Special Occasion
New York, NY —Yigal Azrouël’s new runway collection won’t be the only thing turning heads at this year’s Spring/Summer 2009 New York Fashion Week. On September 5, 2008, attendees will be the first to preview PROPER ATTIRE’s Yigal Sheer condoms and designer T-shirts, which will be available for purchase at Yigal Azrouël’s boutiques in New York City and Water Mill, NY, and online at www.ProperAttireCondoms.com.
“When we decided to create the condom line, we knew that we wanted to make it stylish for women to carry condoms,” said Rachel Molloy, brand director of PROPER ATTIRE®. “Every element of the brand has been inspired by the world of fashion; it only made sense to bring one of fashion’s leading designers on board.”
Yigal Azrouël is thrilled to be working with PROPER ATTIRE for such an important project. As he explains, “Having grown up with five sisters, causes related to women’s health and wellness are close to my heart. I love being able to apply my passion for design to raise awareness for Planned Parenthood. My business is largely founded on designing for women, so it is really about taking that mindset and applying it to a product like PROPER ATTIRE to figure out what appeals to a woman.” Yigal feels so passionate about this project that he generously offered to donate ALL proceeds to Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
Yigal Azrouël launched his eponymous women’s wear label in 1999 to wide acclaim and by 2000 began his participation with 7th on 6th’s New York Fashion Week. Azrouël defined his aesthetic using high-quality fabrics to drape ultra-feminine, modern silhouettes. This vision has evolved throughout the years in myriad forms and fabrics, but Azrouël is still known best as a self-taught, expert draper. His designs are always modern and fresh, with attention to detail and an element of surprise. The fall 2007 season brought the Yigal Azrouël Collection to a new level with the debut of the first full Menswear Collection and capsule Accessories Collection. Born and raised in Israel, of French-Moroccan descent, and having traveled to locations metropolitan and remote, Yigal Azrouël draws inspiration from everything and everywhere: art, culture, architecture, nature, and his hometown, New York City.
Reliable and effective, PROPER ATTIRE® condoms are not only FDA-tested, but undergo rigorous quality assurance testing by the manufacturer as well as by independent laboratories. With increased awareness about the spread of sexually transmitted infections, the practice of safer sex is of the utmost importance.
Research shows that every year in the U.S. there are more than three million unintended pregnancies and approximately 19 million men and women will contract a sexually transmitted infection.
This September PROPER ATTIRE® is not only the “must-have” of the season, it is Required for entryTM to the New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2009 show.
