Planned Parenthood Welcomes Jon Gossett as Chief Development Officer
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Gossett as chief development officer. Gossett brings deep expertise in philanthropy, including in the areas of annual membership giving, major donor fundraising, planned giving, and foundation and corporate support.
Gossett has been certified by the Association of Fundraising Professionals as an Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive, one of only 88 such people among its 31,000 members.
“Jon Gossett’s strong management background and understanding of the unique nature of collaborative fund development between a national organization and its local affiliates make him a natural fit for Planned Parenthood,” said PPFA President Cecile Richards. “We’re thrilled to add his leadership and acumen to our senior management team.”
Gossett has a track record of raising significant Internet income through online giving campaigns and has successfully managed a complex fundraising operation while also raising resources to launch or enhance national programming.
Gossett comes to PPFA from American Public Media Group, which includes Minnesota Public Radio, Southern California Public Radio and Classical, where he served as senior vice president for development. Prior to that, he had a distinguished career in the arts, including spending nine years as the executive director of development of the Houston Grand Opera and six years as the director of development at The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.
