Planned Parenthood Statement on Leadership Transition at Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation
Following is a statement from Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America:
“Nancy Brinker, Elizabeth Thompson, and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation have made profound contributions to women's health. They have helped elevate the importance of breast cancer detection and prevention nationwide.
“Breast cancer detection is an essential part of women’s health, and we are pleased to continue our long-standing partnership with Komen affiliates, leaders and volunteers. In our shared commitment to ensuring that all women have access to breast health services regardless of income, the Komen-funded Planned Parenthood programs have helped thousands of women in rural and underserved communities get breast health education, screenings, and referrals for mammograms. We are proud to continue this work together.”
