The HIV pandemic continues to affect millions of people around the world and in the U.S., with Southern communities, including Memphis and Shelby County, disproportionately impacted. Planned Parenthood is pioneering testing, outreach, and education programs to address the epidemic in the hardest hit communities.

Elokin CaPece, Vice President of Education at Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region (PPGMR), will discuss PPGMR’s innovative community HIV testing program; and Free Condoms Memphis, a free condom distribution program designed to reduce the spread of HIV by making free condoms available throughout Memphis and Shelby County at accessible locations, such as barber shops, nail salons, night clubs, churches and community centers. Both programs serve as models for outreach efforts that engage the community in the fight against HIV.

For more information and for the telephone number and passcode to participate, please contact Joan Carr, Vice President of Community Affairs, at 901-725-3008.
