Half the show's proceeds support the "Someone You Know Fund" of Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest (PPGNW). The fund is a safety net for Pacific Northwest men and women who would otherwise have to go without preventive reproductive health care.
“Raising money for this compassionate fund was something I had to do,” said Roy Horn, front man for the band. “Although President Obama’s Affordable Care Act survived, it does not cover the people the “Someone You Know” fund assists yet, so it’s absolutely essential for common sense preventive care.”
The "Someone You Know Fund" provides preventive health services like HPV vaccines, sexually transmitted infection tests, vasectomies and birth control to uninsured and low-income people here in the Pacific Northwest. Rather than turn this vulnerable population away, PPGNW uses the "Someone You Know Fund" fund to serve them immediately. The fund is exclusively supported by private donations through PPGNW.
“Roy Horn is a Northwest classic. We are so lucky to be partnering with him on what promises to be a thoroughly entertaining evening,” said Chris Charbonneau, CEO Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest. “Please come and show your support for a local artist giving us the gift of his amazing talent and supporting our amazing "Someone You Know Fund."
The Roy Horn Experience is Roy Horn on wind synth, Darius Willrich on piano and vocals, Ev Stern on bass and Jamael Nance on drums. They play jazz, smooth and classic - soulful funk and pop - and their originals with surprise performances by special guests!
