Dayton, OH – January 12, 2009—PUSH (Professionals United for Sexual Health), a newly formed group of young professionals focused on promoting sexual health, will host their first event on January 20, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The event is being held at Coco’s in the Oregon District.
The group hopes to raise $3000, which will allow Planned Parenthood to continue to provide free condoms to those who need them. “Being able to walk into Planned Parenthood and get free condoms is a service that works. Our group’s first initiative is to ensure that this service continues,” said Monica Bartley, PUSH Chairperson. Funding for the condom outreach program comes from a private foundation, and due to the struggling economy, funding for this year is unavailable. Last year, over 100,000 free condoms were distributed in Southwest Ohio, encouraging safer sex practices and preventing sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancies.
Tickets are $12 and include appetizers, a cash bar and coverage of inauguration events. Those wishing to attend can reserve tickets by visiting Coco’s website (www.228cocos.com) or calling Karen Meade at 937-528-4678. Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the event.
