Project Homeless Connect offered people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness an opportunity to receive critical services and basic provisions. Over 60 local service agencies were available to provide information on housing, employment, education, legal counsel, addiction treatment, and a variety of services available for youth, families, seniors and veterans.
PPSD played a key role in organizing and implementing the event, as well as offering rapid HIV screening to 36 individuals. PPSD staff also collected donated items and assembled 600 hygeine bags distributed to men and women who attended the event.
More than 2,000 people representing 1,582 families were homeless at some point during 2008 in Shasta County.
