Planned Parenthood of the North Country New York (PPNCNY) will be offering free HPV vaccine throughout the month of June at all PPNCNY health centers, located in Canton, Lowville, Malone, Ogdensburg, Plattsburgh, Saranac Lake, and Watertown.  HPV is the leading cause of cervical cancer and genital warts.

PPNCNY can provide the HPV vaccine, also known as Gardasil, to male and female patients between the ages of 12 and 26.  In June, PPNCNY will be offering one free injection of the vaccine per person.  In order for the vaccine to be completely effective, patients will need two additional injections.  The additional injections may be covered by insurance, Medicaid, or other programs. This promotion is open to anyone who would like to be vaccinated, including new patients.

Because Gardasil is a vaccine, young men and women under the age of 18 must have parental consent.  Immunization is the only Planned Parenthood service that teens need parental permission to receive. All other services offered by PPNCNY, including family planning, are available to minors without parental consent or notification.

For more information or for an appointment to receive the HPV vaccine, please call (800) 230-PLAN.
