Minneapolis, MN – Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cathy Lawrence to the role of Vice President and Chief Development Officer.
“Ms. Lawrence is an enthusiastic and highly respected leader in our community with a diverse and rich work history and we’re delighted that she’s joining the Planned Parenthood team,” said Sarah Stoesz, PPMNS President and CEO. “She already knows and is well-respected by many of our donors and other key stakeholders and she has long been a passionate champion of the mission of Planned Parenthood.”
Ms. Lawrence most recently served as the Director of Development for Twin Cities RISE!, a non-profit that provides job and career training for people living in poverty. In that role, she built a development and communications operation from the ground up and went on to oversee the organization’s development work including individual and major donors, event-fundraising, foundation grants and state and federal funding. She also directed all communications for Twin Cities RISE! and represented the organization in the community, at the State Capitol and to members of Congress.
“I’m thrilled to be joining PPMNS at such an exciting time,” Ms. Lawrence said. “PPMNS has amazing support throughout the region and a very active donor community. I’m looking forward to working with our supporters to see PPMNS into its next chapter as a place where women and families can turn for a wide range of preventive health services and accessible, affordable health care.”
