Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives launched the most devastating legislative assault on women's health care in American history when it voted to eliminate funding for the nation's family planning program (Title X)
and to de-fund Planned Parenthood as part of the 2011 budget continuing resolution.Since 1970, Title X has provided millions of women with life-saving health care and the means to prevent unintended pregnancy. As the chief executive officer of Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio (PPNEO), I see the difference subsidized family planning services make in people's lives every day.
