Planned Parenthood Spring Book Sale
Monday, March 21st 2011 (DES MOINES, IA) – Volunteers are working round the clock to set up one of the largest used book sales in the country! More than 400,000 used books will be for sale at Planned Parenthood’s Spring Book Sale this week, March 24th – March 28th.
Book lovers will find everything from collectibles, children’s books, magazines, novels and cook books to DVD’s, videos, games, and CD’s.
More than 7,000 bargain shoppers are expected to attend the event, many traveling thousands of miles, from all over the country to go shopping at the Book Sale. Dozens line up outside of the 4H Building, some saving a place in line days in advance, hoping to be one of the first shoppers inside!
Money raised from the Book Sale supports Planned Parenthood’s education and outreach programs throughout Iowa and Nebraska. PP Heartland’s education programs offer age-appropriate and research-based programs in reproductive health, human development and sexuality education for youth and adults in a variety of settings.
