WALLA WALLA – Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho (PPGWNI) is pleased to announce the success of their 30th Annual Walla Walla Wine Auction. This event raised more than $140,000 to support Planned Parenthood’s health care, education, and advocacy services in Walla Walla. The Wine Auction, held at the Marcus Whitman Hotel on November 4, featured wine tasting from wineries across the region and both live and silent auctions.
“I am honored and humbled by the outpouring of support from the Walla Walla community,” said Karl Eastlund, President & CEO of PPGWNI. “The money raised at this event will have a direct impact on the patients we serve and education we deliver in this community.”
The first Walla Walla Wine Auction took place at the Baker Faculty Center on the Whitman College campus in 1982. Held annually, the Wine Auction has become a major part of the Walla Walla Valley’s Fall Release Weekend. 65 wineries were represented at this year’s event and 16 staff members and 47 volunteers were involved in making the event a success.
The Walla Walla Wine Auction supports Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho’s mission to provide exceptional reproductive and complementary health care services, honest education, and fearless advocacy for all.
Next year’s Walla Walla Wine Auction will take place on November 2, 2012.
