Portland, OR – March 30, 2011 – Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) today opens its eleventh health center, located on Mt. Hood Community College’s (MHCC) main Gresham campus. PPCW’s Mt. Hood Community College health center will be open every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., available only to MHCC students and employees with a valid MHCC ID card. Students and staff will be able to access basic, preventive services from Planned Parenthood on campus, including birth control, gynecological exams and Pap tests, sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing and treatment, emergency contraception, and pregnancy testing. Patients seeking services not provided on campus can be referred to another Planned Parenthood health center or other health care provider in the area.

“We’re proud to be partnering with Mt. Hood Community College to make affordable reproductive health care more accessible to Mt. Hood students and staff,” said David Greenberg, PPCW President & CEO. “Especially during these tough economic times, it is crucial that we do everything we can to make preventive health care accessible to everyone.”

Students and staff seeking services can walk in to the health center, room 1051a in the MHCC College Center, during open hours on Wednesdays; no appointments are necessary. Like Planned Parenthood’s other health centers, PPCW’s MHCC health center will accept private health insurance, Medicaid, Oregon Health Plan, Oregon CCare, or bill patients on a sliding fee scale. Patients can call PPCW’s centralized call center seven days a week with questions at 1-888-576-PLAN (7526).
