PLANNED PARENTHOODS OF NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL FLORIDA MERGE

JACKSONVILLE – Today marks a new beginning. Planned Parenthood of Northeast Florida and Planned Parenthood of North Central Florida are merged to create a new affiliate, Planned Parenthood of North Florida!

Planned Parenthood of North Florida (PPNF) – a non-profit reproductive healthcare organization – will serve more than 18,000 women, men and teens annually. PPNF will help people make responsible choices about their health through medical, educational and advocacy services.

”The Board of Directors and I are honored to have the opportunity to lead this organization on a new journey,” said Staci Fox, CEO of PPNF.  “We know that this merger will bring increased capacity for PPNF to serve clients throughout north Florida.”

This merger will strengthen these long-standing Planned Parenthood affiliates though expanded clinical services, increased geographical service area, and improved financial stability. Clinical services offered by PPNF will include:

- Annual exams
- Cancer screenings
- STD testing and treatment
- Abortion services
- Vasectomy services
- Birth control

“Ninety-seven percent of the work we do at Planned Parenthood every day is preventive health care – from cancer screenings, to STI testing and treatment, to providing contraception,” Fox said. “The more we all focus on preventative care, the more stronger, healthier women and families we will have.”

PPNF will be home to 4 healthcare centers that serve a total of 25 counties: Alachua, Baker, Bay, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Escambia, Flagler, Gadsden, Holmes, Jefferson, Leon, Levy, Marion, Nassau, Okaloosa, Putnam, Santa Rosa, St. Johns, Suwannee, Volusia, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington.

The merger brings together two long-standing healthcare providers from northeast and north central Florida. Planned Parenthood of Northeast Florida was established in 1965, serves 7 counties in northeast Florida, and has two healthcare centers located in Jacksonville, FL. Planned Parenthood of North Central Florida was established in 1974, serves 18 counties in northwest and north central Florida, and has healthcare centers in Tallahassee and Gainesville, FL.
