ELLENSBURG – Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho (PPGWNI) will host a health fair in Ellensburg in support of National Women’s Health Week. The goal of National Women’s Health Week is to empower women to make their health a top priority.

The “We’re Here Health Fair” will take place Thursday, May 26 from 10:00-3:00pm in the parking lot of PPGWNI’s Ellensburg health center, located at 613 North Pine Street.

The “We’re Here Health Fair” will aid community members seeking health care and social services through dissemination of information about various local agencies including ASPEN, Kittitas County Health Department, Head Start, DSHS, and many others. Organizations are providing giveaways including Emergency Contraception, sports physical coupons, vouchers for free HIV testing, and more.

“In today’s economic climate, all of us know someone who has lost their health insurance, is unemployed, or needs services but doesn’t know where to access medical care,” said Anna Franks, President and CEO of PPGWNI. “This health fair will focus on the everyday woman, and the “We’re Here” theme will be incorporated into every partnership present at the day’s event.”

The “We’re Here Health Fair” is expected to bring in several hundred Ellensburg and Kittitas County residents.

Funding for this activity was made possible in part by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health.
