Planned Parenthood Collecting Donations to Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Published: 01.06.10| Updated: 01.06.10

MICHIGAN — Planned Parenthood of West and Northern Michigan (PPWNM) is proud to be starting off this New Year giving back to our community. Together with Planned Parenthood affiliates across Michigan, PPWNM is participating in a special project in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday and national holiday.

In recognition of Dr. King’s legacy of non-violence, helping those in need, and giving back to our communities; PPWNM is collecting donations for domestic violence shelters in our local communities throughout the month of January.

Because we are reproductive health care providers, and because people don’t often think to donate these goods to shelters, we are collecting feminine hygiene products.

Donations can be dropped off at any Planned Parenthood health center in Michigan during regular business hours through January 31, 2010.

PPWNM health centers are located in the following cities: Big Rapids, Ionia, Grand Rapids, Marquette, Petoskey, Traverse City, and Wyoming. Learn more about us online at
