Cleveland, OH - The Power of Woman, Northeast Ohio’s biennial silent art auction, will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Zygote Press, Northeast Ohio’s only non-profit, cooperative printing press (1410 E. 30th Street in Cleveland).
The auction will feature a stunning collection of paintings, prints, and photography donated by talented local artists, including the next generation of artists currently studying at universities throughout the region. Original works will be awarded to the highest bidder via silent auction, with proceeds benefiting Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio.
The event will honor Dr. Linda Bradley, and internationally recognized gynecologic surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic and her daughter Kathleen Adams, co-founder of Momma’s Hip Hop Kitchen in New York City. “Dr. Bradley and her daughter Kathleen exemplify The Power of Woman,” said PPNEO CEO Tara Broderick. “Dr. Bradley’s expertise, compassion and holistic approach to women’s health make her an outstanding practitioner and advocate. Kathleen spent time working with Planned Parenthood during her senior project in 2006 and we’ve known since then that she would go on to inspire so many women around her.”
Event Chair and artist Christina Eagleeye-Wilson said, “I am delighted to once again participate in The Power of Woman benefit. It is a fabulous opportunity to support an institution whose work is important to so many women who could not otherwise afford quality health care. We are truly fortunate to have such strong support from Cleveland’s art community and couldn’t ask for better partners in the in the fight to bring awareness to under-served communities.”
Tickets cost $50, and include hors d’oeuvres by Cleveland’s most creative restaurants including the signature food sponsor, Lopez Southwestern Food Club. Wine and beer will be available for purchase, and free, secure parking is available. The event begins at 7 PM, and silent auction bids will close at 9 PM. The award presentation will take place at 8:30 PM. For tickets or more event information, contact Laura Trunzo at (216) 961-8804 x1251.
