SHREWSBURY, NJ – Dating abuse prevention, healthy decision-making, and body image are only a few of the crucial topics that New Jersey teens will discuss during Planned Parenthood of Central NJ’s Annual Conference for High School Students.  “Finding Your Way: The Path to a Healthy Life” will take place on Wednesday, April 29 at the Busch Campus Center at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and will be attended by 260 students from 24 schools from around the state.

Alison Glaser, Vice President of Community Services at PPCNJ said, “We feel fortunate to be able to host such an important event for so many deserving students. Adolescents will have the unique opportunity to interact with peers from across the state about issues that affect their lives every day.”

Planned Parenthood educators, as well as professionals from other community organizations, will be facilitating interactive workshops on the following topics: body image, cyber bullying, issues faced by adolescent males, making healthy choices, dating abuse prevention, sex education, culture, health and identity, teens and substance abuse, and stress management. Students will be able to connect and communicate with each other while learning how to make healthy, sensible life decisions.

Students will also enjoy a dynamic and entertaining presentation by FACES, an innovative, award-winning, multicultural prevention and peer educational program of Maimonides Medical Center in New York.
