Murder of Dr George Tiller a Tragic Loss

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, Dr. George Tiller, and wish his family and staff our sincerest sympathy.

Dr Tiller has provided profound care to women in need for over thirty years under the most challenging of circumstances. We have the utmost respect for this hero to women.  We reflect today on his courage, commitment, compassion and the lesson of bravery that Dr Tiller embodies.  Many of our communities and the individuals we serve will be impacted by the cowardly act of violence that ended the life of a pillar of choice, George Tiller.  We ask our leadership to act boldly and end the violence against providers of abortion care and focus our energy on the need to de-politicize women’s health and access to care.
