TRAVERSE CITY, PETOSKEY, MICHIGAN — Planned Parenthood of West and Northern Michigan (PPWNM) is pleased to announce expanded services at its Traverse City and Petoskey Health Centers! PPWNM has hired an additional family practice nurse practitioner (NP) to its team of highly qualified, long term clinicians.

“We are extremely excited to add such an excellent nurse practitioner to our highly qualified staff,” said PPWNM Regional Medical Services Manager Karen Griggs. “This will allow us to serve more women and families in our community during these difficult economic times.”

Additionally, PPWNM has expanded its cancer screening capability to include ThinPrep Pap screening. The ThinPrep Pap Test is the only Pap test that is FDA-approved as "significantly more effective" at detecting precancerous cervical cells. It is also the only liquid-based Pap test that is FDA-approved for human papilloma virus (HPV), so clients do not have to undergo multiple sample collections.

PPWNM continues to provide annual gynecological exams, sexually transmitted infection screenings and treatment, and birth control evaluation and distribution.

Services can be scheduled by appointment or accessed on a walk-in basis (depending on availability) during normal business hours:
Traverse City Health Center — Monday noon to 7 p.m., Tuesday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Petoskey Health Center — Monday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday noon to 7 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
