Dayton (October 30, 2012) – The Friends of Planned Parenthood, a local volunteer group of more than fifty people work all year to collect and catalog over 250,000 items for this annual sale. Now in its 42nd year the book fair is one of the largest in the Midwest.
Everything can be found November 9, 10, and 11 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in downtown Dayton, Ohio. Shoppers can choose from books in every genre, music in every format including LPs, movies, board games, and more. After forty two years this annual literary tradition attracts thousands of patrons from all over the state. Patrons can log onto to www.ppswo.org
for all the book fair information or call 937-274-5835.
In the last twenty years this volunteer group has raised over $1.5 million for reproductive care in the Miami Valley; 100% of the proceeds of the book fair benefit Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region (PPSWO). “Their amazing dedication to our mission has empowered us to provide services to thousands of people, their impact is immeasurable and we are forever grateful,” stated Crystal Justice Associate Director of Development for PPSWO.
PPSWO strengthens our community by preventing unintended pregnancy and empowering individuals with the knowledge, opportunity and freedom to make private decisions about reproductive and sexual health. With eight health centers throughout the region, two of which are in the Miami Valley, it is PPSWO’s goal to provide reproductive health care services to any individual who wants or needs them; to advocate public policies which guarantee each individual's access to services, right to privacy and ability to make reproductive decisions free of coercion; and to provide human sexuality education which enhances the health and well-being of individuals in the community. PPSWO is an affiliate of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
