Friday, Dec. 28 (DES MOINES, IA) – Planned Parenthood of the Heartland is pleased to announce that the Sue Thayer lawsuit against Planned Parenthood of the Heartland has been dismissed.

The U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Iowa dismissed the complaints filed by former employee Sue Thayer this morning because no specific examples of wrongdoing were presented to the court.

“We are happy the Court dismissed the allegations made by Ms. Thayer with prejudice, recognizing the lack of substance in the complaint,” said Planned Parenthood of the Heartland President and CEO Jill June. “We are a trusted health care provider for thousands of people across four states, and we will continue to stand up to extreme individuals and organizations that attack Planned Parenthood."

The complaint against Planned Parenthood alleging fraudulent Medicaid reimbursements follows a pattern of harassment against women’s health care and Planned Parenthood affiliates across the country.

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland serves more than 65,000 patients every year. Women, men and families know they can count of us for quality, compassionate health care. We remain resolved and will continue to be here for patients, no matter what.
