The Twin Ports Teen Council will host a teen centered health fair, art auction and concert with all proceeds to benefit the Habitat Teen Parent Support Program.
The event entitled, “Extending Our Branches, Strengthening Our Roots,” will take place on Saturday, December 11th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Harbor City International School Theatre on 332 W. Michigan Street in Duluth.

Admission in $5 and the concert will feature area bands. Marcus Brown, Walker, Booland Boys, Rex, Lions & Creators and Bluewater Dance are all slated to perform.
The Habitat Teen Parent Support Program serves young parents enrolled in secondary school in Duluth and surrounding communities. Services provided include child care for any young parent enrolled in an area secondary school, early childhood education, parenting and child development classes and much more.

“We wanted to do something that would help out our community and be fun for teens, and this show seemed perfect. It’s important to us because it’s benefiting a cause we really care about. Local teen artists and bands are getting a chance to showcase their art and music, and we’re raising awareness about teen health issues and great resources available in our community.” Jordan Bissell, Grade 12, Adult Learning Center.

The Twin Ports Teen Council is comprised of local high school students who are passionate about educating their peers on topics concerning sexuality, healthy relationships and decision-making and is dedicated to community service. Teen Council strives to reduce ignorance, promote acceptance and stress the importance of communication between teens and the important people in their lives. Since 2003, Teen Council has been a peer education and youth development program that charges 10-15 Duluth teens each year to educate, advocate and serve.
