Lisa David is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund. She has overall strategic and operational responsibility for all PPFA programs, coordinating across the Executive Team and national office. She provides leadership through all stages of the strategic planning process, from priority development to program implementation to tracking and reporting progress. Through this work, Lisa ensures that PPFA’s priorities align with affiliate needs and the demands of a changing health care landscape. Lisa also provides financial oversight for the organization and works with the PPFA Board of Directors to ensure that the budget is aligned with the program plan.
Lisa oversees the Affiliate Services, Health Information Technology and Business Initiatives, Medical Affairs, Education, and Global Divisions, as well as PPFA’s Human Resources Department. She also drives PPFA’s key priorities around health care reform implementation, health information technology and data analytics, and online health services.
Representing PPFA with key internal constituency and linkage groups, Lisa serves as PPFA’s chief liaison to the Planned Parenthood Affiliate Chief Executives Council (ACEC) and as a member of the ACEC Steering Committee. She is a board member of Voxent, PPFA’s national Management Services Organization, of the PPFA Laboratory Services Cooperative (LSC), and of Medicines 360, an innovative pharmaceutical company developing a new IUD.
Before being named COO in October 2011, Lisa served as Senior Vice President of Health Services Support, leading and integrating the efforts of the PPFA divisions that focus on supporting Planned Parenthood affiliates in their health care operations. Since joining PPFA in October 2008, she has helped spearhead enhancements in business intelligence and the development of national/regional services that help build revenues and volume for affiliates. Additionally, she has overseen the development of national standards for financial accounting and reporting, data standards for electronic practice management and electronic health records.
Prior to joining PPFA, Lisa was the partner responsible for firm management and research and development at the Chartis Group, a prominent health care consulting firm. Prior to Chartis, she spent five years as the Department Administrator for Columbia Medical School’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Lisa also served as Managing Director for Women’s Health Management Solutions, a health care consulting firm specializing in women’s health and gender-based medicine programs. Earlier, Lisa was the first female partner at APM Consulting, which was acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), a national leader in health care and IT consulting.
Lisa has an MBA in Health Care Management from the Wharton Graduate School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Biology from Barnard College. She and her husband live in New York City and have two daughters.
